Windows Home Server

I’ve been using WHS for the last few months and love some of its remote features. While it still has some major bugs to be worked out (data corruption bug) the remote side is very useful. Not only can you access your files remotely, but you can also remote desktop into any other computer on your network that has connected to the WHS.

While most of it is pretty watered down from a typical windows server, it is nice to see adding users, shares and permissions are extremely easy and straight forward. I like the data duplication feature yet it can really slow down the transfers in my opinion.

Overall I think it’s a great new Home OS Server platform from Microsoft… once the data corruption issue is fixed it will be awesome.

The best off the shelf WHS in the US right now is the HP MediaSmart server.
